Technology: It’s HOW you use it!
Presenters: Jan Lay & Steve Nodine
Whether you are a experienced but “traditional” teacher, just entering the profession, or are somewhere in the middle, you may feel that you lack the background and training to evaluate the plethora of technological teaching tools currently at your disposal…much less know how to successfully implement them! We have gathered numerous examples from the faculty members at Clemson University which effectively illustrate how the same technology can produce markedly different outcomes. During the presentation we will use clickers to demonstrate an effective use of this technology as well as a decidedly detrimental use. The presentation will conclude with an audience discussion of technological successes and failures…and what you should keep in mind to help ensure that your use of technology will be favorable.
