Wonderful Experience Overall

I wanted to 'officially' or should I say formally thank all of the conference participants for their comments, guidance, instruction, ideas, feedback, interest, and general participation in this conference. I had a wonderful (in the truest sense of the word and it's root 'wonder') time as did my young son and 'heir to the throne'. It was, for him. a singularly important experience and one which I am certain he will reflect back on many times in the years to come.

The Final Outline of Our Session

Saturday night

Getting ready for this workshop has been a journey in itself -- with an exponential learning curve that has flown off the top of the graph. Here's where we think we'll be on Tuesday.

I. Opening: introduction to who we are, where we teach, and our model of engagement

II. Our cause: why we have embarked on this journey -- what we hope to accomplish with our students

III. Show and tell: our model of blended learning with examples of programs and resources we use to make lessons more engaging to students; what kind of a difference has this made?

The weight loss continues!!!

The Earth Day project has gotten a second wind. We are now endeavouring to get it ready to be entered in the SD36 district student film festival -- called Montage. The team is very excited about having their work on view this way. We're doing a bit of an Oscar-style dinner for them before hand and then we'll meet up with their families at the event.

CAVE Tours added to the Program

We have just finalized the addition of three sessions of tours of one of the CAVE facilities at the University of Calgary to the conference program. Go to conference.adeta.org/cave to learn more about the tours.  And if you would like to participant in the discussions about the CAVE with Dr. Levy, please subscribe to the CAVE discussion group.

Extreme Virtual Reality Showcase

New to the program will be a showcase of the top two winners of the EXTREME Virtual Reality (EXVR) Science Fair that is sponsored by MIRARCO.  We will have the opportunity after dinner on Wednesday evening to view presentations of these two projects and ask questions of the students that created them.  Go to http://conference.adeta.org/EXVR for more details.

There are still a couple of loose ends to tie up but the Conference Program is very close to being finalized. You can access it directly at http://conference.adeta.org/program

The program is looking very good and we are very excited about some of the great presentations that are scheduled and related discussions that will take place both live at the presentation and on this website before and after the presentation.
